I
wrote this computer program a little while ago in order to make it easier for me
to host files on the internet with relative ease. I had a web host set up and a
shared folder where I could simply copy the files, but this did not offer a "one
click" solution that would be ideal for some situations; for example, if I want
to share a picture with a friend I would have to copy the picture there and type
out a derived URL.
My solution was the Host2Web AutoHoster exe. This executable
file is relatively easy to install. It runs as an extremely small command line
application in the windows shell; all one has to do to put a file online is
right click it and select "Send to HTTP". The file will then be automatically
copied to the server and a derived URL will be placed in the clipboard ready for
pasting into either a chat window or an email.
This has allowed for increased productivity in hosting files.
Despite its small size and relative user un-friendliness for installation, this
is certainly one of the most practical and useful programs I have created. |
